Basalt is a six-storey residential building that responds to its proximity to the culturally significant Wong residence and volcanic rock outcrop along Cambie Street. Its scalloped massing and careful stepping preserve sightlines and honor the adjacent heritage home and landscape by Cornelia Hahn Oberlander. Clad in robust materials, the building negotiates the steep topography while maintaining the street wall character of the Cambie Corridor.
